TONY MCLOUGHLIN

North of Ireland songwriter Tony McLoughlin has been described in the German media as having a "rough hewn image, a relaxed manner and a unique husky voice, giving him an irresistible stage presence".

He has also been compared to Bob Seger, Randy Newman and John Hiatt.

Wether performing in an acoustic solo or duo setting, or with his full electric band you are gauranteed a concert of finely crafted songs, delivered with power and emotion.

McLoughlin has been rapidly gaining a name for himself at home in Ireland too where he shared stages with many top acts over the past year, including Arlo Guthrie, Sharon Shannon, Frances Black, Tommy Fleming and Tom Paxton.
" McLoughlin has the vision to take a more hard-edged approach, the use of electric guitar and a roughhouse production ethic suggesting he may be the portent of a new breed. This is a man who is not scared of a bit of feedback, so let's hope the industry, the media and the public are ready for it."

Currently in Germany recording his debut album " CINE RAMA" and gigging, McLoughlin recently capped a hectic period in his life by sharing a bill with the legendary American country rocker Steve Earle in Belfast. He contributed harmony vocals to the new album by renowned Texan singer Richard Dobson who has had songs recorded by Dave Edmunds, Roseanne Cash, Nanci Griffith and Guy Clarke among many others.
According to McLoughlin, "The concert with Steve Earl was one oft he highlights of my career to date. It was organized to highlight the activities of Lazarus Trust which campaigns for victims of miscarriages of justice and against the death penalty. I was honoured to support that campaign as well as sharing a stage with one of my musical heroes."
